Why is my Free Shipping Goal being calculated incorrectly? (FSB)

There are a variety of reasons why our Free Shipping Bar could be making an incorrect calculation when displaying how much still needs to be added to the cart.

Free shipping goal in Shopify Shipping settings is incorrect

It's important to note that the Free Shipping Bar cannot configure or make any changes to your store's shipping options. Free shipping is configured in the Shopify Shipping Settings. Free shipping goal in App is incorrect

When creating a Free Shipping Bar, the app will prompt you to input a Free Shipping Goal. This should be the same as the minimum order price selected in your Shopify Shipping Settings.

Store currency was changed

Assuming that free shipping has been properly configured, this is the common reason. If a merchant changes the shop's default currency after having installed the Free Shipping Bar, the app will make the calculation based on the wrong currency. If this is the case, please contact us and we will manually adjust your store's currency in our database.

Merchant is using a VPN and seeing another currency

The premium version of our Free Shipping Bar allows for Automated Currency Conversion. This is done by finding the country associated with the IP Address of the viewer, and then displaying the currency that is associated with that country. If a merchant is using a VPN that makes it appear as though they are from another country, they may see an incorrect calculation.

The shop is using a Dynamic Pricing App

Some apps dynamically update the display order total on your website, but it doesn’t update the total order amount on the Shopify side. Shopify still calculates the order total based on the original price instead of the discounted price. The Free Shipping Bar always gets the total order amount from Shopify - hence a mismatch happens. The Free Shipping Bar does not work with apps that use a dynamic display price.
