Getting Started With Hextom Free Shipping Bar (FSB)
Welcome to the Free Shipping Bar!
Free Shipping Bar lets your customers know how much more they need to spend in order to obtain free shipping by displaying progressive messages when customers add more items to their cart. This will help increase average cart value and boost your sales in your store.
First things first... Setting up free shipping
Please note, the Free Shipping Bar app does not trigger or apply free shipping but is a tool to help you advertise it to your customers and show them how close they are to achieving free shipping. All shipping charges are handled by your shipping profiles and discounts, set in your Shopify Admin section.
To quickly and simply apply free shipping to all items, you can use Free Shipping Discounts.

If some items are excluded from free shipping or you need more granular control of your shipping rates, you will need to set up rates in your shipping profiles. To learn more about shipping profiles and rates, please see these Shopify articles for information:
Moving on... Creating a free shipping bar
There are a lot of features that you may want to use... but to quickly setup a new bar, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Create New Bar button
2. Select a template
Once you select a template, you will see a preview of how it will look on your website.
(The templates on the right are premium templates and will only save if you are on the premium plan)
3. Configure your bar
There are many configuration options offered in the app. To get started quickly, you need to ensure that the following options are configured.
- Free Shipping Goal: Input the dollar value that your customers must reach in order to obtain Free Shipping.
- Initial Message: The first message your customers will see when their cart is empty.
- Progress Message: The message that will be displayed as your customers add more items to their cart.
- Goal Achieved Message: The message your customers will see once they reach the free shipping goal.
There are many other settings that you can configure, but for now, you can scroll all the way to the bottom and click save.
If you visit your store, the bar should now be at the top of the page.
Making changes... editing your free shipping bar
Now that you have created a bar, you can edit it. To do so, go back to the app's dashboard.
Click on the Edit button in the row of the bar you'd like to edit.
The bar's configurations will open up. You can make any edits you need, then save your bar. When the page in your store is refreshed in your, the bar's changes will be applied.
